La Vita e Bella

On July 19 in Spiridonov House, located in Maliy Gnezdinskiy, the personal exhibition of Tamara Nesterova La Vita è Bella will open - the magic world of glossy dreams. These paintings reconsider images of those who became style models of XX century - Audrey Hepburn, "Beatles", Marilyn Monroe, Ray Charles, Sophia Loren and many others.
Tamara Nesterova works in a manner that combines collage, painting and appliqué. She herself calls this genre "pop-replica". Her works continue the traditions of pop art, but their spirit is quite different. The artist returns soul to those, who were mercilessly taken to symbols by her predecessors. "These paintings should be seen "live", - says Tamara. - They are three-dimensional, multi-layered, a photography is unable to reproduce them". In every work different materials are used - silk, fur, Swarovski crystals, beads.
They remind icons in precious frameworks, and Tamara's heroes are cult figures of the gone century, which are lit by the tenderness and admiration of author. "In every painting a legend is enciphered: for example, I portrayed Marilyn Monroe against the music paper background, because her life was as inspired and short, as a musical play. And "Beatles" are celebrating their Birthday, that's why they are surrounded by balloons, confetti and happiness they gave to all of us".
